Saint Lucia’s Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort has named a new managing director, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The property has tapped James Wyndham for the role, who served most recently as general manager of the Island House, one of the top boutique hotels in The Bahamas.

His previous roles include positions with Jumeirah, Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton, among other companies.

“We are delighted to bring James Wyndham on board to helm a new chapter for our iconic Resort,” said Mark Griffiths, Regional Vice President of Operations for Viceroy Group. “Wyndham’s dynamic industry experience and leadership is unmatched. His track record in creating authentic and memorable experiences will only elevate the Sugar Beach product, and further propel the property as one of the world’s leading luxury beach resorts.”

The property debuted a new look at the end of 2021, following a five-month renovation.

That included the addition of new oceanfront bungalows and cottages, upgrades to the resort’s food and beverage program and an “enhanced guest experience.”
