The Dutch Caribbean island of Statia has eased its entry rules for travelers, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new policy, which went into effect on Feb. 1, mandates a negative PCR test within 48 hours before departure to Statia.

The island has removed what had been a mandatory entry test for vaccinated travelers.

Statia is open to vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers; vaccinated travelers must submit to monitoring for five days; unvaccinated travelers must stay in quarantine for seven days.

A mandatory antigen test at the end of the quarantine or monitoring period is still required.

Travelers who test positive while on the island have a mandatory isolation period of seven days, down from what had been a 10-day period.
