Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed its newest ship: Norwegian Viva, the latest vessel in its Prima Class.
The new ship will begin sailing in 2023, with plans to sail the Southern Caribbean for the 2023-2024 winter season out of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The ship, built by Italy’s Fincantieri, will debut at 965 feet long with capacity for 3,219 guests at double occupancy.
Viva will feature the most spacious rooms in the company’s largest ocean view and balcony staterooms, according to a statement.
Norwegian says the ship will also have the highest staffing levels of any new cruise ship in the category, highlighted by The Haven by Norwegian, a keycard-only premium “ship-within-a-ship” concept.
The Haven will feature 107 suites designed by Italian designer Piero Lissoni.
“Norwegian Viva, the second of six Prima Class vessels being built with us, reinforces the great collaboration between Norwegian Cruise Line and Fincantieri,” said Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager Merchant Ships Division at Fincantieri. “We were extremely satisfied that Norwegian Prima, the first of the new class, earned record-breaking bookings and we are excited to see how Norwegian Viva will live up to her sister ship. As we proved our resilience during these challenging times, this announcement represents another testament to Fincantieri´s global leadership role in the cruise sector.”
