American Airlines Kicks Off New Service to San Andres, Colombia

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 12, 2021

American Airlines has launched another new nonstop route to the Caribbean, this time to the tiny island of San Andres off the coast of Colombia.

The new service is operating twice weekly, with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The flights are being operated by Envoy on Embraer 175 aircraft with 76 seats — including 12 in first class.

““This winter we’ve doubled-down on our commitment to Miami, hiring more than 1,500 new

team members and adding new destinations, more frequencies to existing markets and more

widebody flying,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, Vice President of MIA Hub Operations.

The new service is part of a broader launch by American to the Caribbean this season out of Miami, including recently-started flights from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean island of Dominica
