The US Virgin Islands has seen one of the highest levels of airlift growth of any Caribbean destination amid the pandemic.
And now the destination is getting another new route.
On Feb. 17, low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines will kick off another new route to the Caribbean out of Miami with service on Thursdays and Sundays.
The flights are already on sale, according to Spirit Airlines’ Web site.
“We’re thrilled to continue growing Spirit’s presence at MIA,” said Lania Rittenhouse, Vice President of guest experience and brand at Spirit Airlines.
The move continues to cement Miami’s position as one of the leading air hubs to the Caribbean.
Spirit’s entry to the Miami market comes as fellow low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines has also dramatically ramped up its service to the Caribbean out of Miami.
