Brazilian air carrier GOL has returned to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The carrier is now operating three flights between São Paulo and Punta Cana, with service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The flights are being operated on Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft, with capacity for 189 seats.

“We are very satisfied and happy to be able to count on GOL’s enthusiasm and support in restoring its route and the contribution of these new seats to our destination,” said Rene Contreras, director of the Dominican Republic’s Office of Tourism Promotion in Brazil.

Prior to the pandemic, Brazil was one of the top South American source markets for tourism to the Dominican Republic, along with Argentina.
