Carnival Cruise Line’s cruise relaunch has continued with a restart of its operations out of Tampa.

The company’s Carnival Pride cruise ship kicked off its first sailing out of Tampa since the pandemic this weekend.

A second Tampa-based ship, Carnival Paradise, will be sailing out of Tampa beginning in March.

“We have been a proud member of the Tampa community for more than 25 years, having been the first cruise line to sail from Tampa in 1994, so we’re absolutely thrilled to provide our guests an opportunity to get Back to Fun from the port while supporting the local economy,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Carnival Pride is sailing a mix of six, seven and eight-day Western Caribbean itineraries.

Carnival has now relaunched more than half of its US-based fleet, with more ships set to restart in the next few months.

Carnival says all 22 of its US ships will be in operation by March of next year.
