The new Rokuni will be set at the Nonsuch Bay Residences in Antigua.

The top culinary group in Antigua is opening a new restaurant, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Rocks Group, the team behind the Caribbean-leading Sheer Rocks restaurant and the popular Catherine’s Cafe beach restaurant, is opening a third location at Antigua’s Nonsuch Bay Residences.

It’s called Rokuni, and it will be an Asian-inspired eatery that “combines Eastern dishes with the classic Rocks Group style and flair.”

It’s the latest addition to the Rocks Group portfolio, which includes the signature Sheer Rocks, above.

Rokuni will include what Rocks Group calls a “dynamic cocktail program,” joined by a separate poolside “Rokuni and Relax” menu.

Managing Partner Alex Grimley and Rocks Group Executive Chef Simon Christey-French will lead the opening of the restaurant, joined by Matthew Hartmann as restaurant manager; Hartmann comes from Saint Lucia’s celebrated Cap Maison.

The Head Chef at Rokuni will be Nepalese-born, Japanese-trained Chef Rana Magar.
