American Airlines is ramping up its flights to Grenada for the upcoming winter season, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Right now, American operates two weekly flights between Miami International Airport and Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport, with service on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On November 2, American Airlines will increase that number to three weekly flights from Miami, with an additional flight on Fridays.

On Dec. 1, American will begin operating daily nonstop service between Miami and Grenada.

The world’s largest airline will also be operating one weekly flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

That service will kick off on Nov. 27, with flights once weekly on Saturdays.

“As people re-engage their passion for travel, our airline partners recognize the value of providing connectivity to our special island,” said Petra Roach, CEO, Grenada Tourism Authority. “New and expanded air service helps Grenada regain its position as a highly attractive destination for visitors seeking a distinctive Caribbean experience.”
