Antigua and Barbuda Takes the Stage in Dubai

Antigua and Barbuda is making a high-profile tourism push in Dubai, with a display at the Expo Dubai 2020. 

The destination has its own pavilion in the “Mobility” section of the expo, with displays of the country’s dramatic development in the last few years. 

Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez and Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority CEO Colin C. James, along with the country’s Ambassador to the UAE, Gilbert Boustany, among others. 

“Antigua and Barbuda’s participation at Expo Dubai 2020 is a momentous occasion and marks another milestone for our country on an international stage,” Fernandez said. “It is an honor to be a part of history, as we showcase the progress of the nation, and the very best Antigua and Barbuda has to offer; from luxury vacations to first class business and investment opportunities. Not only that, but Expo Dubai 2020 is the perfect backdrop for the sharing of ideas and culture; particularly our move towards green energy and of course, our world-class talent which will also be on display.”

Most notably, James said the team would take the opportunity to re-engage Emirates about the possibly of starting direct service to Antigua’s VC Bird International Airport.

The Antigua and Barbuda pavilion will educate visitors the traditional game of warri, offer the opportunity to purchase “masterpieces of local artisans” and experience the twin-island country’s vibrant music. 

Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment Unit is also present to encourage foreign direct investment. 

This year’s Expo Dubai 2020 is held from Oct. 1 through March 31, 2022, aiming to promote international cooperation, growth and business.
