In Nevis, the Ultimate “Hamilton” Experience

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 15, 2021

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” and its miraculous success on Broadway took the tiny island of Nevis to new heights, turning U.S. Founding Father Alexander Hamilton’s birthplace into a new kind of global hotspot.

And with Hamilton back on Broadway, the island’s leading resort has launched a new program to give visitors the ultimate Hamilton experience.

It’s called the Alexander Hamilton Package, and the new offering from the Four Seasons Resort Nevis has everything from private Hamilton movie nights to a stay in one of the property’s signature Alexander Suites.

“Nevis might be a little unknown island at the edge of the Caribbean, but it’s filled with so much history,” said Yvette Thomas-Henry, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “Not much has changed with Charlestown since those times, so you can really feel the legacy of what once was when Hamilton was living on the island.”

Hamilton’s childhood home in Nevis.

Other inclusions range from a private Nevis tour with an historical storyteller and a private rum pairing dinner to a Hamilton-style portrait experience and in-suite Hamilton paraphernalia.

There’s even a Kids For All Seasons history lesson for the little ones.

Notably, it also includes a donation to the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS foundation.

In other words, it’s a new way to visit the “Forgotten Spot in the Caribbean.” (And it’s not even Hamilton’s only Caribbean destination — recent researched showed a prolonged stay by Hamilton and his family on this Caribbean island, too).
