How to Take a Rum Vacation at the Four Seasons Nevis

The Four Seasons Resort Nevis has always been rum-forward.

While hotel rum bars are a bit more common today, when the Four Seasons debuted its then-101 Rums Bar in 2014, it was one of the first of its kind.

And now, the property is continuing its focus on rum with a new program: Ready to Rum.

Ready to Rum gives guests an opportunity to indulge a variety of rum-related activities: a mixology class with one of the Caribbean’s leading bartenders, Kendie Williams; a rum and Cuban cigar pairing session; a rum blending lesson with local expert Mark Theron and a private rum pairing dinner in their villa on Pinneys Beach.

There’s even a rum-infused spa treatment included.

“When you visit the Caribbean, the first thing that comes to mind is having a good, strong rum cocktail to start the vacation off right,” says Loic Ferrie, Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Nevis. “This rum-soaked package will be the perfect way to end the summer with endless sunshine, palm trees and a taste of rum that will leave you wanting a return trip to this infinite Caribbean paradise.

The monthlong package also features an exclusive bottle of Crowned Monkey Rum, the bespoke rum crafted by Barbados’ celebrated Foursquare Rum Distillery for the resort. (It shares the name with the resort’s Crowned Monkey Rum Bar, the spiritual successor to 101 Rums).

The rum is aged for 14 years in a single Jim Beam bourbon barrel, with the final year in Nevis, yielding 345 private-label bottles.

“This rum is a true taste of the Caribbean and the perfect representation of the legacy that is Four Seasons Resort Nevis,” says Kendie Williams, Master Mixologist. “You don’t need to do much to it; it’s a smooth sipping rum.”
