The Bahamas has announced new rules for fully vaccinated travelers, set to take effect Aug. 6.

Notably, all fully vaccinated travelers will now have to obtain a negative PCR or antigen test taken no more than 5 days prior to arrival to The Bahamas.

Additionally, all children ages 2-11 will also have to obtain a negative PCR or antigen test in the 5-day window as well.

All children under 2 are exempt from any testing requirements.

Unvaccinated travelers aged 12 and older must still obtain a negative PCR test (no antigen option) taken no more than 5 days prior to arrival.

All travelers still have to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa (you can find more here).

For those who have already applied for and obtained a Bahamas Travel Health Visa, these protocols will be waived.

It’s a change from The Bahamas’ summer policy, which had waived pre-testing requirements for the vaccinated.

In a statement, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation said the move was “part of The Bahamas’ continued efforts to provide a safe and healthy island experience for everyone to enjoy.”
