The Dominican Republic’s most popular tourism destination is getting new flights from Europe, Caribbean Journal has learned.

German carrier Eurowings, which is owned by Lufthansa, is set to launch new nonstop service between Frankfurt and Punta Cana next month.

The new service, which will begin Aug. 9, will be operating three times each week, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism confirmed.

It’s part of a wider Caribbean push for Eurowings, which is also adding new flights to Barbados, Cancun and Cuba, among other stops.
