Frontier Launches New Flights to The Bahamas

By: Alexander Britell - June 24, 2021

Frontier Airlines has launched its newest nonstop service to the region, with flights from Miami to Nassau, The Bahamas.

The inaugural flight from Miami to Nassau kicked off with much fanfare.

It’s Frontier’s first-ever service to The Bahamas.

The new flights are operating four times each week, with service on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

It’s the latest expansion for Frontier out of Miami, where the low-cost carrier is cultivating a rapidly-expanding presence in the Caribbean.

“We’re excited to launch new nonstop flights between Miami and Nassau,” said Frontier Airlines CEO Barry Biffle. “The Bahamas is one of the top international vacation destinations within easy reach of the U.S. and, with our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ approach to flying, it is now even more affordable to visit and explore this amazing island paradise. Plus, travelers have even more to be excited about with nonstop Costa Rica and St Maarten flights launching next month. These new routes highlight our commitment to making travel to popular vacation destinations more accessible for South Floridians.”

That includes new flights to everywhere from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, among other routes.

Frontier has also been expanding rapidly to the Caribbean out of Orlando Airport.

The Bahamas is in the midst of a tourism rebound, buoyed by its recent change to waive testing requirements for fully vaccinated visitors to the country. (You can find more on the country’s entry protocols here).

And The Bahamas has undertaken a broad reopening of its tourism sector, from mainstays like Atlantis and Graycliff in Nassau to the boutique hotel and resorts across Grand Bahama and the Out Islands of The Bahamas.
