Dominica has updated its restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The country has revealed its new protocols for the fully vaccinated, highlighted by the removal of an on-arrival test.

“The government of Dominica have relaxed restrictions for fully vaccinated people arriving in the country,” Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced Monday.

Fully vaccinated travelers will continue to have to provide proof of a negative test within 72 hours before arrival.

When they arrive in Dominica, they’ll then be transported to quarantine at a “Safe in Nature” certified hotel or accommodation for a minimum of two days.

A PCR test will be administered to fully vaccinated travelers on Day 2 after arrival; travelers must await the results at their hotel or accommodation for up to 24 hours.

Dominica has been open for tourism since last summer.

The island has had a strong record amid the pandemic, with not one COVID-related death in the country, and a total of just 178 cases.
