BVI’s Saba Rock Now Planning to Relaunch This Fall

The British Virgin Islands’ Saba Rock resort is planning to relaunch this fall, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The private-island resort in the heart of Virgin Gorda’s North Sound says it will begin welcoming guests in October.

The property has been in the midst of a dramatic reconstruction project since being largely destroyed by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

It had initially targeted a spring relaunch.

“While we know so many of you have been anxiously awaiting our opening, we ask that you wait just a little longer and plan your Saba Rock Resort visits with us starting this October,” the resort said. “We’ve had to postpone the resort opening until later this year, but it will be well worth the wait when you’re finally able to see what our little slice of paradise has to offer with the new Saba Rock. From island arrival to tropical cocktails to in-room experiences and all the elements in between, we want our finishing touches to be just right for your future visit.”

The North Sound has seen something of a renaissance in the post-Irma period, from the soon-to-relaunch Moskito Island to the continued real estate surge at Oil Nut Bay and the ongoing reconstruction of the Bitter End Yacht Club.
