Cancun and Punta Cana are seeing strong demand for summer travel among American travelers, according to a new report from CheapOair.

The online travel agency says Cancun is the top Caribbean vacation destination among its U.S. traveler base, and the third most popular destination overall after Miami and Las Vegas.

Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic’s travel hub, is also seeing sizable demand.

“According to data from the TSA, passengers going through US airports in March is consistently over 1,000,000 per day.  That’s a significant increase over just one month ago and demonstrates America’s growing willingness to travel,” said Sam Jain, CEO of CheapOair’s parent company, Fareportal.

Cancun is seeing strong demand from couples, which make up 63 percent of all bookings for the Mexican Caribbean destination this summer, while solo travelers comprise 15 percent of bookings.
