Sandals Resorts International has reopened its Beaches Ocho Rios resort in Jamaica, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The reopening of the  family-friendly all-inclusive resort means Beaches has now reopened all three of its properties in the Caribbean, including Beaches Turks and Caicos and Beaches Negril, with the latter also in Jamaica.

“Families have been through a lot over the past year. From navigating virtual school and work simultaneously to being away from loved ones, the Beaches team is here to give them the vacation they have been dreaming of,” said Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International. “With both vaccinations and confidence in travel trending upward, families can now choose between three Beaches Resorts in the region, which all feature the highest levels of health and safety, and all of the activities and amenities that make for an unforgettable vacation experience.”

The resort has reopened under the brand’s Beaches Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness, which cover everything from waterspouts and dining to the resort’s Red Lane spa.

Amenities at the resort include seven restaurants, five pools, access to the neighboring Sandals Golf and Country Club, 11 waterslides and the resort’s famous Sesame Street program.

Beaches Ocho Rios is also providing on-site testing for guests who need to comply with the CDC requirements for return travel.

Last year, Beaches announced plans to expand to another Caribbean destination, with the soon-to-debut Beaches St Vincent in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Sandals has opened almost all of its 15 resorts in the wider Caribbean.
