Belize has reopened its borders for yachters, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The country has reopened its maritime borders, with approved ports including San Pedro, Belize City and Placencia.

The reopening has come with several conditions, including the requirement that all yachts use a licensed shipping agents to enter.

Yachts must give notice to enter at least 72 hours prior to arrival, and all crew and passengers must show proof of a negative test upon entry.

Both PCR (taken within 72 hours of arrival) and rapid antigen (within 48 hours of arrival) are accepted.

“The Belize Port Authority, the regulatory agency for Belize’s maritime borders, is confident that yachting tourism can be carried out safely by following approved local and international health guidelines along with established boarding procedures and protocols,” officials said in a statement.
