Melia Hotels has launched a free testing program for travelers at its hotels in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

The move helps travelers comply with the new CDC testing requirement for return travel to the United States.

Melia will be providing free on-property antigen tests for all travelers who need them, including at the Paradisus Playa Del Carmen, Paradisus Cancun, Paradisus Los Cabos, ME Cabo, Meliá Cozumel, Meliá Puerto Vallarta The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real, Paradisus Palma Real, Meliá Caribe Beach Resort and Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort.

The program applies to travelers who stay for at least three nights at a participating resort.

“This is a critical step in the return to normal for the travel industry,” said Andre Gerondeau, Chief Operating Officer of Meliá Hotels International. “Guest health and safety remains our top priority and we want to ensure we make this an easy and seamless process for our guests, offering them peace of mind and confidence in their Meliá vacation experience.”

Melia also launched a free insurance policy for all reservations, covering medical coverage and unexpected health events, including Covid.

Most crucially, it includes a complimentary extension of a guest’s hotel stay for up to 15 days and assistance for travel companions if a diagnosis requires it.
