Sonesta St Maarten Launches On-Property Testing Option

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 7, 2021

Sonesta Resorts St Maarten has launched a new rapid-testing program for guests, the company told Caribbean Journal

The property, which is comprised of the adults-only Sonesta Ocean Point and the family-friendly Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, will offer Abbott PAnbio rapid tests administered by a healthcare professional.

Results will be available within 30 minutes, with a cost of $55 per test per person.

The aim is to help travelers feel more confident as they return home at the end of their trip.

It’s also to help travelers from source markets like Canada, which is now requiring tests upon returning home.

“With travel protocols changing by the day, we want guests to feel safe and secure knowing they can depart their vacation with the same peace of mind of when they arrived,” said Saro Spadaro, the company’s president & CEO.

Sonesta already offers a $120-per-person credit to help offset the cost of the test St Maarten requires for all incoming travelers to the destination.

The credit can also be used toward the on-property testing option.
