Popular Virgin Islands-based ferry operator Native Son has launched a new ferry service between St Thomas and St Croix.

The high-speed service will be operating two days per week, according to the company.

The trip takes around two hours, according to a statement from Native Son.

Native Son has long operated on the route between Tortola and St Thomas.

The service will be operating on Fridays and Sundays, departing from Charlotte Amalie at 8 AM and arriving at 10 AM in Christiansted.

The return service departs at 4 PM from Christiansted, arriving in St Thomas at 6 PM.

“The schedule from St Thomas to St Croix has been specifically designed to make day trips and short weekend breaks an easy possibility,” Native Son said in a statement.

The route opens up island-hopping vacations for travelers to both destinations.

That gives travelers “around six hours to enjoy the island,” according to the company.
