The Hilton in Cartagena.

It’s a Caribbean destination that has quietly been surging in recent years, both with visitors and new hotel development: Cartagena on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

And now the city anchored by one of the region’s most charming urban destinations has another new brand: the Nácar Hotel Cartagena, the first-ever Curio Collection by Hilton in the city.

“We are delighted to welcome Nácar Hotel Cartagena to Curio Collection and to be part of the portfolio of more than 90 unmatched hotels around the world,” said Jenna Hackett, Global Director of Curio Collection by Hilton. “Part of the experience of Curio Collection is encouraging our guests to feel a local wonder as they explore the hotel and its surroundings, which makes Cartagena a perfect option to continue our expansion of this unique brand.”

The hotel, operated by oxoHotel [sic], is set across two towers in the historic city.

“Nácar Hotel Cartagena, Curio Collection by Hilton combines the best of personalized service and international gastronomy in a spectacular property,” said Laura Rodriguez, general manager of the Nacar Hotel Cartagena, Curio Collection by Hilton.

The property has a total of 49 rooms, along with two eateries: Madreperla and Fresco.

Hilton said the hotel has been “reborn,” with the Curio brand; the property has also relaunched under Hilton’s CleanStay health and safety program amid the new realities of travel.

“Hilton is a globally recognized partner and at oxoHotel we are pleased to partner with them to bring the Curio Collection by Hilton brand to the Historic Center of Cartagena de Indias for the first time,” said Juan Carlos Galindo, CEO of oxoHotel.

It’s the latest new flag for Cartagena, whose burgeoning hotel pipeline also includes an in-development Four Seasons resort
