American Airlines is expanding its pre-flight testing program to three new destinations in the Caribbean, including Belize, Saint Lucia and Grenada.

Beginning Nov. 16, preflight testing will be available for “all” American flights to the three Caribbean destinations.

“Our initial preflight testing has performed remarkably well, including terrific customer feedback about the ease and availability of testing options,” said Robert Isom, President of American Airlines. “This next phase is an invigorating step forward in American’s relentless pursuit of reopening international travel and driving industry recovery while delivering a safe and positive travel experience.”

The program, a partnership with LetsGetChecked, an at-home testing company, will offer at-home PCR testing to customers traveling to the three countries.

Results can be expected within 48 hours “on average,” American said.

Belize currently requires pre-testing within 72 hours of departure, while Grenada and Saint Lucia require it within seven.

Customers cannot board flights to Saint Lucia without a negative test result.

Each at-home test is observed by a medical profession via a virtual visit.
