Grenada’s Dive Fest Is Going Virtual

What would be the fourth edition of the Grenada Dive Fest this year will be going virtual.

The Pure Grenada Dive Fest will host a “virtual experience” this year, with events running now through Oct. 25 on the festival’s social media channels, from videos on local diving personalities to shots of the island’s pristine underwater ecosystem.

That will include the streaming of one live event, “Beginners Dive Day,” which will see a group of Grenadian non-divers invited to experience a scuba lesson in a local pool.

“The Grenada Scuba Diving Association team must be congratulated on reviewing innovations to remain relevant with potential dive visitors, especially millennials, and share our pristine coral reefs, healthy marine life and amazing wrecks for discovery and adventure digitally,” said Nikoyan Roberts, nautical development manager for the Grenada Tourism Authority.

According to Patricia Maher, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, five of nine total dive operators in Grenada are now open for business.
