Round Hill, the legendary Jamaica boutique hotel part-owned by designer Ralph Lauren (who also designed the guest rooms), has officially reopened.

The greater Montego Bay-area hotel officially reopened its doors on Sept. 1.

Both Round HIll’s 36 Lauren-designed guest rooms and its collection of 27 luxury villas are now open for travelers.

The villas range in size from two to six bedrooms; most of them have their own private pools (many of them have played host to luminaries like Alfred Hitchcock and John F. Kennedy.

The latter stayed at Round HIll’s Cottage 25 in 1960, using the villa to practice his now-iconic inauguration speech.

The hotel is emphasizing its luxury and seclusion as travelers continue to place a premium on social distancing amid the new realities of travel, according to Josef Forstmayr, the hotel’s longtime managing director.

Indeed, Round HIll has relaunched with a host of health and safety protocols designed to limit face-to-face interactions.

Jamaica reopened its borders for international tourism on June 15.
