Canadian low-cost carrier Swoop will be relaunching its service in Toronto beginning in October, the company said this week.

The airline, which had grown a broad network of flights both domestically and to leisure destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico, will officially resume its Toronto flights on Oct. 25.

“Travel is beginning to rebound, and we want to help encourage Canadians to reconnect with family and friends or plan that long-awaited vacation,” said Charles Duncan, President, Swoop. “With the robust health and safety measures we have put in place on each of our flights, travelers in Toronto will now have more affordable air travel options than ever before.”

The company has not yet revealed with routes it will be relaunching, only that it will be a “mix of domestic and international routes.”

The carrier’s winter schedule will be released in September, the company said.

“We welcome Swoop’s decision to begin operations at Toronto Pearson,” said Deborah Flint, President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “The industry has changed significantly, and we are focused on world-class health and safety measures that will ultimately reinvigorate travel at Pearson and throughout the region.”
