Almost three months after reopening its borders for international tourism, Jamaica continues to see an increase in travel demand, according to new data from Expedia.

Searches for Jamaica’s travel hub of Montego Bay on Expedia Group’s digital platforms rose 15 percent last month, the travel company said this week.

Jamaica has received more than 40,000 tourists since reopening, representing an economic infusion of an estimated $80 million, Expedia said.

Jamaica was among the most-searched for destinations in the Caribbean, joined by travel powerhouses like the Dominican Republic and San Juan.

The country recently shifted its travel requirements for visitors from the United States, requiring pre-testing for all Americans.
