The Dreams Punta Cana Resort Is on the Market
The Dreams Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic is on the market, Caribbean Journal Invest has learned.
The all-inclusive resort is owned by Playa Hotels and Resorts, and is set in the Uvero Alto beach area of Punta Cana, the Caribbean’s most popular tourist destination by volume.
“It’s 620 [keys] in a really good location in Punta Cana,” said Paul Weimer, senior vice president at CBRE, which has the listing on the property.
It’s the latest activity for Playa, which recently sold a pair of Jewel-branded resorts in Jamaica.
So far, Weimer said much of the interest in the property had been coming out of Spain.
The AAA Four Diamond resort has what’s billed as the largest freeform pool in the Dominican Republic, along with nine eateries, nine bars, 5,800 square feet of meeting space and a 17,000-square-foot, 12-treatment-room outdoor spa.
“The property has demonstrated a strong and stable history of profitability over many years and is an exceptional investment opportunity in a perennially popular destination that welcomes over 35% of all stopover arrivals to the Caribbean,” CBRE said.
It’s one of several prominent listings currently being handled by CBRE, including the recently-listed CuisinArt resort complex on the island of Anguilla.
The property is currently managed by Apple Leisure Group’s AMResorts; it is being offered “fully unencumbered by brand and management,” CBRE said.
“AMResorts has successfully managed the property since its opening and would like to retain management,” the brokerage said.
