The Amanera resort in the Dominican Republic is officially reopening on July 1, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The reopening coincides with the planned reopening of the Dominican Republic to international tourism, also on July 1.

The 25-“casita” ultra-luxe resort is also one of the leading golf resorts in the Dominican Republic, home to the Robert Trent Jones, Jr-designed Playa Grande Golf Course.

Rees Jones recently completed a sweeping redesign of the course.

Aman Resorts said the property had implemented a series of protocols and plans to ensure guest safety, from arrival at the airport to departure.

Those range from enhanced disinfecting of casitas to on-demand temperature checks to socially-distanced dining.

“We have always prided ourselves on offering guests a generosity of space in our secluded location amidst abundant nature and fresh air. In addition to the guidelines laid out below the resort will be creating new private dining and in-room wellness experiences as guests get used to being back in the company of others,” the resort said in a statement.
