Guyana.

Guyana has extended the closures of its two major airports until May 1, 2020, the country’s government announced this week.

The decision was made to reduce the transmission of the novel coronavirus in the country, officials said.

The move came as an initial 14-day airport shutdown was set to expire.

The closures apply only to international flights; domestic flights have proceeded during the period.

Cargo, medical evacuation and technical stops for aircraft that need fuel hve also continued.
