The French Caribbean island of Martinique has implemented what its government is calling “aggressive” measures to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Martinique has shut down all inbound flights to the island, having canceled all international flights to and from Martinique as of March 23.

Air service is only authorized for the reunification of families with children or dependent people; professional obligations “strictly necessary for the continuity of essential services” and health requirements, according to a statement from the Martinique Tourism Authority.

Martinique has also stopped all cruise calls for the season, and all maritime transport is suspended as well, while marinas activities have been discontinued.
