The British Virgin Islands has closed all of its international ports to inbound travel, the British Overseas Territory announced.
The move, which went into effect on March 22 at 11:59 PM, will last for a period of 14 days “in the first instance,” according to a statement from the British Virgin Islands Department of Information.
It’s a strong move to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus amid the global pandemic.
The BVI’s move is also a strengthening of an initial move that had limited international ports of entry last week to the Beef Island Airport and the Road Town and West End ferry terminals.
