By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 20, 2020

La Collection Resorts’ Live Aqua hotel brand is set to open a new hotel in the heart of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The new Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana is slated to open in March, the company confirmed to Caribbean Journal.

The Uvero Alto-area all-inclusive beach resort will have 345 suites across seven different room categories, all with either ocean or garden views or swim-up rooms.

Indeed, pools will be a central component of the resort, with almost 97,000 square feet of pools across the property, including an ocean-view infinity pool.

The lushly-landscaped campus will feature a host of what the hotel is calling “zen spaces,” with gardens, waterfalls and hammocks.

Dining concepts will include seven local and international eateries, with cuisines ranging from local Dominican food to Mexican and Mediterranean.

There will also be a beach bar, a lounge club, a sports bar and a full-fledged beach club.

A component of suites at the new Live Aqua will also include their own private plunge pools, according to the company.

La Collection also announced the appointment of the new director of sales and marketing for Live Aqua Beach Punta Cana, tapping industry veteran Marc Andre to the role.

The newest Live Aqua will be the brand’s first hotel property in the Dominican Republic, joining existing Live Aqua resorts in Mexican destinations including Los Cabos, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and its most recent opening in San Miguel de Allende.
