Another Michelin-Star Chef Comes to Martinique

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 17, 2019

Another Michelin-star chef is coming to Martinique.

One of the Caribbean’s buzziest culinary destinations is set to welcome a renowned chef with the arrival of Michelin-star Chef Nicolas Magie.

The Bordeaux chef, famous for his Le Saint James eatery, is set to helm the Le Zandoli restaurant at the boutique Le Suite Villa hotel in Martinique’s tourism hub of Trois-Ilets.

Magie, a regular visitor to the island, said it was an essential opportunity to come to Martinique and La Suite Villa.

Magie will lead the culinary program at Le Zandoli, long one of the island’s top restaurants, where Chef Florent Boucher will continue running the day-to-day operations.

“With the arrival of Nicolas Magie and his wife, we are committed to pursuing the path of excellence on which La Suite Villa is already launched,” Patrick Fournet, the hotel’s new owner, told Caribbean Journal.

It’s another boost for a destination that continues to set the standard for Caribbean culinary excellence.

Magie follows another Michelin-star chef, Martinique native Marcel Ravin, who several years ago took his talents to Fort-de-France’s Hotel Simon with his La Table de Marcel eatery.
