The groundbreaking ceremony this week.

The island of St Kitts will soon be home to a major new hotel, Caribbean Journal has learned.

A new 240-room hotel project is coming to a 350,000-square-foot site at Brighton’s Estate on the east coast of St Kitts.

The hotel, which will feature views of the Atlantic, will also include a commercial shopping mall as part of the project.

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris called the development a “major investment in the northeastern side of St Cristopher.”

““It is very important that we see the development that is taking place in our country as being inclusive and is spread everywhere, from Basseterre, our capital, to the suburban areas and to the rural areas of St. Kitts and Nevis. This is something that we want to incentivize and to encourage so that the richness of our diversity is experienced by everyone,” Harris said.

At 240 rooms, it would immediately be among the island’s largest hotels.

“We are a beautiful country with a lot to offer and I’m sure that the tourists who will come here and our own local people who will come here will have excellent service and reception. The edifice is beautiful and if we realize this kind of architecture and this kind of superb quality we will bring a major boost to the socioeconomic life for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis,” the Prime Minister said.

ERA Development’s CEO, Leo Xin, said the project was being designed to “five-star standards.”

Other amenities would include a pool, a bar, a spa, a gym, a salon and Asian, European and Caribbean eateries.
