MSC Meraviglia Launches Caribbean Cruise Season in Miami

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 12, 2019

MSC Cruises’ Meraviglia has officially arrived at its new homeport in Miami and begun sailing Caribbean cruises.

The ship, MSC’s largest cruise ship sailing out of the United States market, has a capacity for 4,488 guests.

It will be spending its winter season cruising around the Caribbean region.

“Since MSC Meraviglia arrived in the U.S. in October, we’ve seen tremendous excitement and buzz from our travel advisor partners and guests,” said said Ken Muskat, EVP and Chief Operating Officer of MSC Cruises USA. “We are thrilled that MSC Meraviglia will now be part of the beautiful Miami skyline, joining MSC Seaside, MSC Armonia and MSC Divina. Due to significant demand, this is the first time MSC Cruises’ has four distinct ships sailing the region, all offering an enriching experience inspired by our European heritage, while providing our guests even more choice and variety to best fit their vacation needs.”

Meraviglia will be sailing two different Western Caribbean itineraries, stopping in some combination of destinations including Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Mexico, Belize, Honduras and The Bahamas.

Those cruises will include the line’s new partnership with Martha Stewart, which includes special menus, recipes and shore excursions and is now offered on all of MSC’s cruises in the Caribbean.

“We welcome MSC Meraviglia with open arms,” said Chairwoman of Miami’s Tourism and Ports Committee Rebeca Sosa. “We are very pleased the vessel will be joining MSC Cruises’ line of cruise ships sailing out of PortMiami.”
