More New Flights Coming to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic’s capital of Santo Domingo has become one of the Caribbean’s hottest destinations for new airlift, and now another carrier is expanding to the destination.
Delta Air Lines has announced plans to add a second daily flight from Atlanta to Santo Domingo beginning Dec. 21, according to a statement from the company.
“This expanded service is timed to open up additional connectivity through Atlanta for customers traveling from the Dominican Republic, who will now have convenient one-stop access to more than 175 destinations around the globe,” Delta said in a statement.
It’s the latest expansion for Santo Domingo, which the Dominican Republic’s government plans to push significantly as a tourism destination.
The move follows a number of launches of new Santo Domingo routes by carriers like JetBlue and American Airlines recently.
