How to Live Right on the Water in Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos has quietly become one of the Caribbean’s centers for luxury real estate development — and now there’s yet another project on the way.

This time it’s The Launch, the newest addition to Providenciales’ Long Bay beach, a stretch of sand made famous by The Shore Club resort.

The Launch is the brainchild of development firm Windward, which developed Provo’s Blue Cay Estate, and it’s targeting a select demographic: boat owners.

It’s a radical, cool design for Long Bay.

The Launch will have 38 waterfront units, with a mix of one, two- and three-bedroom “boathouses,” all of which will access 26-foot boat docks.

The project will be set across five buildings grouped around a central entertainment area with a pool, gardens and hammocks. The one and two-bedroom units will have the opportunity for rooftop terraces.

“At South Bank, we are happy to provide vacationers, seasonal and full – time residents alike a long – awaited opportunity to live right on the water,” said Ingo Reckhorn, developer at Windward Development Ltd.

Construction on the new project, including on the first homes at The Launch, is set to begin over the next few months, according to Reckhorn.

“We feel our one, two, and three bedroom offerings provide great value for a waterfront and marina experience,” Reckhorn said in a statement.

More crucially, all of the units will be managed by Grace Bay Resorts, the company behind hotels like the Grace Bay Club and Point Grace.

Turks and Caicos Sotheby’s International Realty has been tapped as the exclusive broker for the project.

“As the exclusive broker for South Bank, we love how the Boat Houses complement the Ocean Estates and beachfront Lagoon Villas, at such a welcoming price. In addition to being an integral member of Provo’s only residential resort and marina community, Boathouse owners will have the optionality of renting their Boathouses long – or short term,” said Joe Zahm, President of Turks & Caicos Sotheby’s International Realty.
