The first-ever cliffside hotel in Turks and Caicos has officially broken ground.

Grace Bay Resorts has announced the groundbreaking of phase one of Rock House, the first residential resort tucked into the limestone cliffs of Providenciales’ north shore.

Rockhouse joins the list of nearly a dozen projects in which Grace Bay Resorts has been involved in Turks and Caicos, led by its flagship hotel, the Grace Bay Club.

The company says the design of Rock House is meant to emulate “the seaside towns of the Mediterranean coast,” with design by Turks and Caicos architecture firm Coast Architects and master planner Epikos Design.

New York-based interior designer Shawn Henderson is imagining the interiors.

Rock House will feature 37 studio suites and one- and two-bedroom ridge and beachfront cottages, all of which will also be for sale.

Highlights will include a 100-foot infinity pool perched on a 25-ft limestone cliff, a Beach Club and a jetty.

Additional amenities will include a signature restaurant offering 180-degree views of the ocean, a spa, fitness center, tennis courts and jogging trails.

The resort is slated to open in 2021.
