Dominica is getting hot, and the latest new project to launch on the Eastern Caribbean island is a major expansion at its iconic Secret Bay luxury hotel. And it’s, well, very, very cool.

The boutique villa hotel has officially launched sales at its new project, The Residences at Secret Bay, some of the most spectacular new real estate in the pipeline in the region.

The Residences will be a collection of 42 private high-design villa and larger “villa estate” residences, all set within the gated confines of the Secret Bay property.

“Secret Bay is a rare luxury hideaway that guests have connected with in a very personal way since we opened in 2011,” Gregor Nassief, proprietor of Secret Bay and developer of The Residences at Secret Bay, told Caribbean Journal. “We’re excited to extend our approach of hyper-personalized service that has made Secret Bay world-famous to each of our owners, and to share our beautiful island with buyers who want a remote retreat that also serves as a prudent real estate opportunity in an emerging destination.”

And while it’s a major addition to a hotel site that had included just six villas, developers said the new construction and its layout would actually reduce density from nine to seven percent of the wider property.

“The tangible sense of intimacy and seclusion that Secret Bay has become renowned for will forever stay intact,” the property said in a statement.

The villas will feature from 1,356 to 5,182 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space, with lot sizes that range from 3,557 to as much as 32,290 square feet.

Every unit will have what the property called an “aura of casual coastal elegance,” with hardwood floors, gourmet kitchens, private plunge pools, outdoor showers and hammocks and daybeds.

Other amenities will include high-speed Wi-Fi, smart home technology and, naturally, access to all of the hotel’s service and amenities.

They will come in one of eight different layouts, including clifftop, hillside, waterfront and “peninsula” villas and estates.

The property will also be included in Dominica’s citizenship by investment program, which offers citizenship for approved real estate investments on the island.

It’s a program that’s been largely fueling much of Dominica’s fast-paced growth, including this year’s highly-anticipated new Kempinski hotel.
