The Dominican Republic’s tourism capital of Punta Cana is getting another new nonstop route from the United States.

This time, it’s a new flight from Providence, Rhode Island’s TF Green Airport on fast-expanding low-cost carrier Sun Country Airlines.

The new seasonal service will launch this winter on Nov. 16, operating once weekly on Saturdays, according to the company.

Service will increase to twice weekly on Dec. 25, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

“We’re thrilled to expand our network in Providence and to provide another nonstop international route for T.F. Green,” said Sun Country Airlines Chief Executive Officer Jude Bricker. “Our focus on low fares and excellent customer service has been a great fit in this market, and we appreciate the great partnership we have with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. We look forward to continuing to grow our presence here in Providence.”

It’s yet another Caribbean expansion for Sun Country, which has increased its regional network to new destinations like Belize and St Kitts in the last year.
