Fast-expanding resort company AMResorts is expanding in Curacao, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Apple Leisure Group subsidiary has signed a resort management deal to transform the Hiltlon Curacao into the new Dreams Curacao Resort, Spa and Casino.

The property will be undergoing a $15 million renovation before reopening in December 2019, according to the company.

“We’re very pleased with the Caribbean’s current momentum and expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future. Considering ALG moves two out of every 10 U.S. travelers headed to the Caribbean, and the fact that the Curacao Tourism Board has succeeded on attracting more American visitors than ever before, now is the time for owners to invest in the island’s all-inclusive market,” said Javier Coll, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of ALG. “We’re looking forward to introducing our very first Dreams property in the country and are confident our firm’s proven track record and unmatched expertise will continue fueling our growth throughout the region.”

The resort, set on Curacao’s Piscadera Bay, will include 197 rooms and suites, each of which will have a private balcony.

When it reopens, Dreams Curacao will have access to two private white sand beaches, along with amenities including two culinary concepts, a luxury spa, a fitness center and a corner shop and cafe, among others.

The property will feature the company’s signature all-inclusive offerings, ranging from 24-hour room service to a daily refreshed minibar.

It will be AMResorts’ second all-inclusive in Curacao, along with the Sunscape Curacao, which first opened in Curacao in 2012

AMResorts now has a portfolio of 64 resorts, along with another 10,000 rooms currently in development.
