Norwegian Cruise Line has completed a $50 million renovation project on its Norwegian Joy cruise ship, the company said this week.

The large-scale refresh aimed to make the ship nearly identical to Norwegian Bliss, its popular sister ship, according to the company.

Joy, the 15th ship in Norwegian’s modern fleet, is the second in the company’s Breakaway-Plus class.

The renovation included an enhanced go-kart track, new dining and bar concepts and an updated “Galaxy Pavilion,” among other changes.

The ship will cruise to the Caribbean out of Miami beginning in 2020, after a period of sailing the Mexican Riviera out of Los Angeles, among several other stops.

“We are so happy to bring Norwegian Joy to North America to sail alongside her sister ship, Norwegian Bliss,” said Norwegian Cruise Line President and CEO Andy Stuart.
