Fast-expanding hotel giant Accor has named a new CEO to lead its North America and Central America regions, the company announced this week.

The company has tapped Heather McCrory for the role, in which she will have “strategic oversight” over 115 hotels and more than 28,000 employees in the two regions.

“I am pleased to welcome Heather to our Group’s Executive Committee and into her new role as Chief Executive Officer overseeing the successful operation and expansion of Accor brands throughout North & Central America,” said Chris Cahill, deputy CEO responsible for hotel operations and CEO for luxury brands at Accor.

It’s likely that expansion will have as a major component some of the brands in the sbe portfolio in which Accor purchased a major stake last year.

Those brands include everything from SLS to Mondrian.

McCrory had most recently served as executive vice president of operations for the North and Central America region for Accor.
