Sandals Resorts International has completed a large-scale transformation project at its Sandals Montego Bay resort in Jamaica.

The property, which was the first-ever Sandals when it debuted in 1981, has been in the midst of a transformation project for several years, one that just culminated with the addition of two new eateries: Butch’s Steak and Seafood and the Asian-inspired Soy.

That’s along with the new Latitudes Overwater Bar, which has 360-degree ocean views and fire pits by night.

It means the property now has a total of 12 culinary concepts and six bars.

The Montego Bay resort also recently opened a new overwater wedding chapel, while adding two new categories of swim-up suites: beachfront and “Crystal Lagoon.”

The property also has a new, reimagined lobby space complete with a main bar with direct water views, along with a new conference center.

“Sandals Resorts was built on the simple principle of exceeding guests’ expectations, and this especially rings true today with the complete transformation of our hallmark resort, Sandals Montego Bay,” said Gordon “Butch” Stewart, Chairman and Founder of Sandals Resorts. “I am very proud of how far Sandals has come since 1981, and I am very proud of where we’re going.”
