Montserrat is looking to change its tourism fortunes, and the island has tapped a veteran of Trinidad and Tobago’s tourism sector to lead the charge.

Montserrat has appointed Warren Solomon to the post of Director of Tourism.

Solomon has previously served as General Manager of Marketing and Acting CEO of Tourism Development Company, Trinidad and Tobago; Director of Tourism of Tobago House of Assembly, Division of Tourism and Transportation; Director of Sales, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Trinidad and Vice President of Tourism for Tourism and the Industrial Development Company of Trinidad & Tobago.

In a statement, Montserrat’s Office of the Premier said Solomon “brings experience in understanding the nuance of managing and promoting destinations considered “off the beaten path.’”

Solomon’s biggest priority will be realizing the implementation of the island’s Tourism Minister Plan 2015-2025, according to the statement.
