Demand for four and five-star hotels is surging right now in the Caribbean, according to new data from Expedia Group.

Demand for four and five-star-classified properties jumped in the first three quarters of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, according to the company.

Expedia’s findings analyzed data from hotels and resorts in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and The Bahamas.

Four-star properties in particular are the most popular category across the three destinations, according to Expedia.

In The Bahamas in particular, four-star stays represent almost 75 percent of package demand for Expedia customers.

In the Dominican Republic, the top market for four-star properties are Bavaro, Macao, Uvero Alto, Cabeza de Toro and Puerto Plata.
