A Flat Month for Caribbean Hotels

It was a month of flat growth for the Caribbean’s hotel sector, according to the latest data from analytic firm STR provided to Caribbean Journal.

The region’s hotel occupancy was up 0.1 percent in November to 64.9 percent, compared to the same month in 2017.

That was accompanied by 0.7 percent growth in average daily rates to $180.84, while revenue per available room rose by 0.8 percent to $117.37.

For the year, Caribbean hotel occupancy is down by 1.3 percent, standing at 65.4 percent, while average daily rates are up 1.4 percent to $202.58 and revenue per available room (RevPar) is flat.

STR’s data surveyed 1981 hotels comprising 254,272 rooms in the wider Caribbean region.
